PhD applicants
If you have applied or are planning to apply to the UW-Madison Department of Industrial Engineering, and are interested in working with us, please reach out to Dr. McDonald via email.
In your email, please address the following questions:
- What projects in the lab interest you?
- What is your background in the area of your project of interest?
- What would be the best time (US central time) to meet to discuss your interest?
Please note that we are unable to offer direct Teaching Assistantships. Our PhD students typically are funded through Research Assistantships or Fellowships.
MS students
If you are currently enrolled as an MS student in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering and you are interested in working with us, please reach out to Dr. McDonald via email. Please note that research funding opportunities for MS students are rare, however, we often supervise MS students on independent study.
Undergraduates
Undergraduate students at UW-Madison who are interested in our lab should stop by Dr. McDonald’s office hours or email Dr. McDonald. We enjoy working with undergraduate students and usually host 1-2 students per semester.
